The cacophony of mass media informs Canadian artist Jeff Rosen’s explosive free-associative style. His category-defying paintings capture impressions of sound bites and meditations on the nature of cultural consciousness - revealing faces, figures, animals, totems, metaphysical landscapes, and non-existent entities, a unique style dubbed “ABSTRACT RORSCHACH.”
He is galleried in Toronto and Ottawa, and his works are included in galleries and private collections in Canada, Germany, California, and the USA.
Recently, two major works have been acquired by the government of Canada as part of their permanent Global Affairs Visual Arts Collection, one of the country’s most prestigious national collections.
When not painting, Jeff creates, writes, and produces award-winning children's television series like Bo on the Go, Poko, Animal Mechanicals, The Mighty Jungle, Pirates!, Monster Math Squad, and Space Ranger Roger. One of Canada’s most prolific and syndicated showrunners and creators, he was also the principal writer of the beloved Theodore Tugboat. Jeff’s programs have been viewed around the world and translated into numerous languages.
Jeff was a founding creative partner of DHX Media (now Wildbrain) a global content company, home to Peanuts, Teletubbies, Strawberry Shortcake, Caillou, Inspector Gadget, and Degrassi.
Jeff lives in Nova Scotia and Los Angeles.
